Oh, come on! everyone uses this GIF, why can’t I?
So, what is the 4th law of thermodynamics got to do with WordPress on Microsoft Azure?
Well, for those super educated, there isn’t a formal 4th law… but perhaps it is that the default position for humans is stupidity :)
On to why this is even remotely connected with WordPress on Azure. It can be dangerous leaving your credit card on ANY website, but especially cloud hosting companies (Microsoft isn’t the only one). I am keen to try WordPress on Azure and so I *think* I have selected the correct app plan - this was the lower-level entry option for “the hobbyist”, at least I am hoping so.
I have added a budget to the Azure cost and management section, and I seem to find myself checking virtually every day. So far so good. My budget isn’t blown as yet, but I am still nervous!
I am testing this approach to host a WordPress site on Azure just to see “how it goes”… possibly not the brightest thing to do but I am curious, given how easy it was to spin up, to see how this performs albeit even the smaller entry level option.
It was certainly easy to configure, a few clicks and WordPress/MySQL and all of the default networking/security was done. All in all it took about 5 mins.
Well, if I come begging for some food in the future and the possibility of living in your garage, then you will know this experiment went really wrong!
